From CNN's Carol Costello:
In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday Herman Cain said, "African-Americans have been brainwashed into not being open-minded, not even considering a conservative point of view."
Many African-Americans were offended by Cain's remarks asking , would anyone ever suggest white, male voters are brainwashed because they vote republican?
The comment set off a media firestorm. One political analyst on AC 360 last night said, "What Herman said was a racist comment and should be treated like a person who makes racist and bigoted statements" while another said, "When people start throwing the word 'racism' around that's when I end the conversation because you can't have an intelligent conversation when you're talking about that."
And frankly, it's tough to get over the fact that some republicans forced America's first African-American president to produce his birth certificate. But republicans are saying, don't paint us all with the same brush.
Talk Back: Was Herman Cain fair when he said African-American voters were brainwashed?
