Question of the Day: What's your favorite fast food guilty pleasure?

A lot of people think that looking at the calorie counts posted by food chains is a smart way to order the healthiest dish when dining out.

However, a new study by Tufts University nutrition researchers shows that nearly one out of five restaurant dishes has at least 100 calories more than what the restaurants state on their websites.

The underestimated foods came from several restaurant chains, including Chipotle Mexican Grill, Olive Garden, Boston Market and Outback Steak House.

Question of the Day: Do you think Rupert Murdoch knew about the phone hacking?

(CNN) - News Corp founder Rupert Murdoch, his son James and former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks will appear before the Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport in the UK Parliament this morning to answer questions about the phone-hacking scandal that has shaken Murdoch's global media empire.

British journalists working for Rupert Murdoch's News of the World are accused of hiring private detectives to hack illegally into the voice mails of thousands of people, ranging from top politicians and celebrities to murder victims and the families of fallen troops.

Question of the Day: Would not raising the debt ceiling teach America a good lesson about spending?

(CNN)- President Barack Obama and congressional leaders will continue to negotiate a possible deficit reduction deal this week to clear the way for congressional Republicans to back an increase in the federal debt ceiling.

While discussions continued over the weekend after the last full negotiating session Thursday, no significant progress has occurred and the chances for a comprehensive deficit deal sought by Obama in coming weeks appear remote.

Question of the Day: Should jurors be able to cash in on their case?

In the wake of the Casey Anthony trial, Florida State Representative Scott Randolph and local defense attorney Mark NeJame are introducing a bill that would make it illegal for a juror to seek or accept compensation for information deriving from their jury service until after 270 days.

The crime would be a third-degree felony punishable by $10,000 and up to five years in prison.

While NeJame claims that the law would assure that the jurors are not biased when deliberating, others have called the bill unconstitutional and overly burdensome.

Question of the Day: Will President Obama’s outburst yesterday help resolve the debt debate?

(CNN) - A fourth straight day of negotiations intended to head off a possible government default ended on a tense note Wednesday, with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and President Barack Obama squaring off over the Republican's call for a short-term extension of the federal debt ceiling.

Cantor, R-Virginia, told reporters after Wednesday's meeting that he proposed a short-term agreement to raise the federal debt ceiling, a position Obama has previously rejected.

"That's when he got very agitated and said I've sat here long enough - that no other president - Ronald Reagan - would sit here like this - and that he's reached the point that something's gotta give," Cantor said, adding that Obama called for Republicans to compromise on either their insistence that a debt-ceiling hike must be matched dollar-for-dollar by spending cuts or on their opposition to any kind of tax increase.

"And he said to me, 'Eric, don't call my bluff.' He said 'I'm going to the American people with this,' " Cantor quoted Obama as saying.

Question of the Day: What's the impact if the government doesn't have the money to send out benefit checks August 3rd?

27 million Social Security checks are due to be mailed on August 3rd, the day after the U.S. government will default on its debts if Democrats and Republicans do not agree to increase the nation's borrowing limit.

However, President Obama warned yesterday that, absent a deal, he can't guarantee that older Americans will receive their Social Security checks next month.

"There may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Obama said in a CBS News interview last night.
