(CNN) – Ever since the botched Times Square plot, the NYPD's bomb squad has been busier than ever. Our Susan Candiotti got exclusive access to the elite unit and in part two of her AM original report she takes us along for a ride with the bomb squad, where every call is a matter of life and death.

(CNN) – New York City's police force is made of about 34,500 men and women, all putting their lives on the line to protect one of the busiest cities in the world. A select few make up the city's bomb squad and our Susan Candiotti has been given unprecedented access to talk with them, including those who were called in on May 1st during the Times Square bomb scare.
Arizona wants to reassign teachers with accents
(CNN) – It's been a month since Arizona passed its controversial immigration law that sparked protests from coast to coast. Now, state education officials want immigrant teachers with heavy accents removed from classes for students who are still learning English. They say they are following federal guidelines set up by the Bush administration in 2002, but critics are calling it an ethnic witch hunt. Our Thelma Gutierrez looks at the new debate in this AM original report.
Calif. spinal injury clinic draws controversy
(CNN) – For people with severe spinal cord injuries, the ultimate dream is walking again. For many, that's just not possible. Spinal cord patients were given a very famous and public advocate with the late actor Christopher Reeve.
Reeve frequently pushed for more studies involving stem cells, but a controversial clinic in California is taking a much simpler approach. The results seem to be medical miracles. Our Alina Cho has this AM original report.

(CNN) – A new political ad is asking Attorney General Eric Holder to name DOJ staffers who have represented terror detainees in the past.

Iraq vet overcomes PTSD to run for office
(CNN) – After coming home from war, it can be hard for soldiers to adjust to normal life again, especially when dealing with post traumatic stress disorder.
That was the case for Army Captain Shannon Meehan. He's moved on from Army life, but still says he wants to serve his country. He talked exclusively with our Barbara Starr for this AM original report.
