Did Black Friday live up to the hype and will Cyber Monday be far behind?

We're about halfway through Cyber Monday on the East Coast (as of this writing). It's the biggest, most critical online shopping day of the year. And almost every major retailer is planning to take advantage of the hottest day to shop online.

But can shoppers really find the best deals so early in the season? And did Black Friday turnout meet expectations?

Best Buy CEO on record number of shoppers waiting for Black Friday sales

Before Best Buy stores even opened on midnight on Black Friday, some stores counted nearly 2,000 customers outside the doors ready to pounce on the best deals.

Macy's opens early, pursues younger shoppers for holidays

Macy’s Department store kept true to their promise of never missing a Black Friday. In fact, they revamped their operation a bit by opening at midnight as opposed to the usual 4am.

Consumers flooded the Macy's in New York City's Herald Square — the world’s largest. American Morning’s Alina Cho caught up with Macy's President and CEO of Macy’s Terry Lundgren who explained what the store had to offer for Black Friday and his outlook on the holiday shopping season.
