Erin Brockovich pens novel about environmental activist

Erin Brockovich, best known from the movie named after her and about her life, is an environmental activist with a knack for writing.

Brockovich has written a new novel about an environmental activist, in hopes that her real-life mission might be embraced by readers through fiction. Brockovich talks to American Morning's Kiran Chetry about her new novel "Rock Bottom".

Couple chronicles real-life CIA love story

Bob Baer and Dayna Baer were on a covert mission in Sarajevo when they first met. Bob was an accomplished CIA agent–he was famously played by George Clooney in "Syriana"–and Dayna was an up-and-coming "shooter" in the agency.

Shortly thereafter, the two resigned from the CIA to start a life together as a married couple in the U.S. The Baers chronicle their real-life spy love affair in their new book "The Company We Keep: A Husband-and-Wife True-Life Spy Story" and talk to T.J. Holmes about their unusual story.

Reporter's new novel a reflection of current uprisings

Alex Berenson is a reporter for the New York Times and is the author of the new novel "The Secret Soldier".

Berenson's new book is fiction but the subject is one that has become a familiar reality to the world in the last few weeks: uprisings in the Middle East. The novel focuses on a leader in the Middle East who is starting to lose the support of his people. Berenson talks to American Morning's Kiran Chetry about his new novel and the current uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa.

Cal Ripken Jr.: Baseball legend turned children's book author

Baseball Hall-of-Famer Cal Ripken Jr. is a sports legend, known for having played a record 2,632 consecutive games with the Baltimore Orioles. But Ripken can now add "children's book author" to his resume.

Ripken has written a new book called "Hothead", the story of a young baseball player who learns to control his hot temper– a character modeled after Ripken's young self. American Morning's Kiran Chetry talks to the baseball legend turned author about his newest feat.
