(CNN) – The full impact on the environment from the Gulf oil disaster is still impossible to know. But with all the worry and heartache, some people think this crisis could bring out the best in people in the region. (CNN) – Although the oil in the Gulf hasn't reached many of Florida's famous beaches, businesses still feel the threat of it is scaring tourists away. Now, the state is spending a lot of money to make sure that doesn't happen. (CNN) – Today is the first official day of summer, but across the Gulf Coast, beaches sit empty. People who depend on tourism dollars are wondering how they're going to make ends meet. But in Florida, most of the state's beaches are still untouched by the oil. Businesses are banding together to get the word out that they're still open for business.
