Here are some of the stories that will be making news later today:

President Obama will wrap up the first day of the G-20 summit after a morning and afternoon of closed door sessions. President Obama is also sitting down with India's Prime Minister and Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah.

Indictments could be filed against former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich as early as today. Today is the last scheduled day the grand jury meets before the April 7th deadline for filing the indictment. Sources close to the investigation say Blagojevich's wife and campaign committee are also possible targets. Blagojevich is accused of trying to sell President Obama's former Senate seat. He denies any wrongdoing.

At 8am ET a tsunami warning will go out along the eastern seaboard after a simulated earthquake in Puerto Rico. It's the first-ever test of a tsunami warning system in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. It's designed to cue coastal communities of the potential danger of huge waves caused by earthquakes

At 8:30am ET we'll hear how many more Americans have signed up for unemployment benefits. That's when the Labor Department releases its weekly report on initial jobless claims.

Centcom Commander General David Petraeus is headed to Capitol Hill today. He'll meet with the House Armed Services Committee. His focus will be new strategies for Afghanistan and Pakistan

At 10am ET the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will be holding a hearing on the collapse and rescue of insurance giant AIG. Former AIG CEO Maurice "Hank" Greenberg is expected to testify to the committee today.

Here are some of the stories that will be making news later today:

More child advocacy groups are piling on against Madonna's petition to adopt a four-year-old girl from Malawi. New critics are now accusing the singer of using her money and celebrity status to manipulate the adoption process. A court will decide Friday if Madonna can adopt the little girl whose mother died in childbirth.

New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress is scheduled to appear in court today in his gun possession case. Law enforcement officials are reportedly considering a plea deal, but say any agreement would require him to serve jail time. Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg with an unlicensed handgun at a Manhattan nightclub last fall.

And President Obama's second pick for Health and Human Services Secretary makes her Senate debut. The Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pension's Committee will hold a hearing on Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius nomination. Sebelius is expected to face questions regarding her pro-choice views.

At 11:00AM ET President Obama will unveil the details of his plan to help out the struggling auto industry in a news conference at the White House.

At 10:00AM ET NASA unveils a full-sized mock-up of its spacecraft Orion on display at the National Mall in Washington. Orion is on target to bring people to the International Space Station in 2015 and to the moon in 2020. It's currently in its testing stages and will head down to Cape Canaveral Florida after it's stint at the Capitol.

And all day long we'll be watching the weather conditions in the upper Midwest. The swollen Red River began to recede slightly yesterday, but it still remains at dangerous levels. Officials warning residents in North Dakota and Minnesota to keep their guard up. Forecasters say a storm could bring as much as 10 inches of snow to the area.

The stories that will be making news later today:

At 10 am Eastern, rap star T.I. will head to an Atlanta courthouse to face sentencing for charges he attempted to buy illegal firearms in 2007. The rapper has previously worked out a plea deal that will significantly cut down his jail time.

At 9:25 am, President Obama unveils his new strategy for the war in Afghanistan. The plan calls for up to four thousand more troops on the ground and up to 1.5 billion dollars in humanitarian aid to Pakistan. That's nearly triple the amount the country receives now. The goal: Defeat Al-Qaeda and destroy the safe haven that has developed in Pakistan.

And preparations begin today for the Shuttle Discovery's return trip home. The shuttle is scheduled to make it back to Earth at 1:39 pm tomorrow. The astronauts successfully installed all six solar panel wings.

The stories that will be making news later today:

More and more Americans are filing for unemployment. Today at 8:30 am eastern the Labor Department releases its report of weekly jobless claims. We'll have those numbers for you as soon as that report comes out.

All day long we'll be watching the severe storms affecting most of the United States. In Fargo North Dakota officials are planning for possible flooding evacuations. While blizzard conditions are expected in the Rockies. Meanwhile the southern states are on watch for extreme thunderstorms.

Later today, IBM is expected to announce it plans to lay off about five-thousand employees. These cuts make up about four-percent of IBM's work force based in the United States. This comes after IBM's January layoffs when the company cut thousands of its workers.

At 10 am eastern Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner heads back to Capitol Hill. He's expected to outline the administration's plans for preventing future financial collapse.

The stories that will be making news later today:

This afternoon – President Obama makes the pitch for his 3.6 trillion dollar budget to Senate Democrats. Its a tough sell – a lot of top Democrats are worried the new budget could add seven to nine trillion dollars in new debt.

The crew of the Space Shuttle Discovery is preparing to depart the International Space Station. Discovery scheduled to undock from the space station at 3:53 ET this afternoon. It will perform the traditional fly-around of the station before heading home. Discovery will return to Earth on Saturday.

Cycling legend Lance Armstrong is expected to undergo surgery at 7 o'clock CT on his broken collarbone. Armstrong said in a Twitter post last night that the injury was more serious than doctors first thought. He says tests showed multiple pieces of broken bone. Armstrong crashed Monday during a race in Spain. The seven-time Tour de France winner plans to get back on the bike by May.
