Parents of two detained American journalists speak

American journalists Clare Morgana Gillis and James Foley were on assignment in Libya when they were detained on April 5 outside of Brega. The parents of the two Americans heard from their children for the first time Thursday, when Gillis was able to make a phone call to her parents. Gillis reported both she and Foley are in good health.

Two journalists killed in Misrata remembered

Chris Hondros and Tim Hetherington were reporting from the war-torn city of Misrata, Libya when they came under fire Wednesday. Both men lost their lives in the violence and are now being remembered for their bravery.

Freelance journalist Greg Campbell was a long-time friend of Hondros and was in Libya with both men last week. Campbell speaks to American Morning.

Weldon: 'We're here to convey a message'

Tripoli, Libya (CNN) - Curt Weldon, the former U.S. congressman who intends to meet with Moammar Gadhafi and persuade him to step aside, told CNN on Thursday he hasn't yet but still hopes to sit down with Libya's defiant strongman.

If and when he does have the sitdown, Weldon said he plans "to reinforce the message of the Obama administration."

Former Rep. Curt Weldon spoke live on American Morning this morning with Christine Romans and explains the message he intends to bring to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

Freed New York Times journalist: 'We were in survival mode'

Lynsey Addario was one of four New York Times journalists captured by Gadhafi's forces in Libya on March 15.

Addario was beaten and sexually assaulted before ultimately being released on March 21. A photographer, Addario has worked in the Muslim world for 11 years. Lynsey Addario and her husband Paul de Bendern, India Bureau Chief for Reuters, talk to Ali Velshi about what they went through.

Rep. Rogers on Libya: 'We wouldn't know who we're arming'

The White House briefed U.S. lawmakers Wednesday on the nation's operations in Libya. The briefing came amidst news of CIA presence in the North African nation and reports that the U.S. is arming Libyan rebels, a tactic some lawmakers disagree with.

Representative Mike Rogers (R-MI), Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, says he would be cautious about arming rebels right now. Rep. Rogers talks to Kiran Chetry and Christine Romans about the briefings and the latest out of Libya.
