* Amanda Knox is back home in Seattle 33 hours after a jury in Italy overturned her murder conviction.
* Right now in Greece, thousands protesting a new wave of salary and pension cuts, tax hikes and layoffs.
* 18 people have now died from eating cantaloupe contaminated with listeria. The CDC reports at least a hundred listeria cases in 20 states.
* Another round of evacuations in Bastrop, Texas this morning. A wildfire there has already burned 1,000 acres.
* West Virginia's acting governor is acting no more. Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin won a full-term to replace former Governor now Senator Joe Manchin.
* Washington's National Cathedral will re-open in five weeks. It's been closed since it was damaged by an earthquake in August. Officials say the total restoration will take years – with the cost in the tens of millions of dollars.

* Amanda Knox should be back on U.S. soil today. The freed student had her murder conviction overturned in an Italian court yesterday.
* Chris christie is expected to announce whether he's running for president in the next 48 hours.
* New e-mails suggest White House officials were worried about the energy company Solyndra - even before the company received a $535 million dollar loan last year.
* Black smoke pouring from a Texas chemical plant. The EPA is heading to the area outside Dallas today to check for toxic vapors.
* ESPN yanked the famous Monday night football open, featuring Hank Williams Jr., after the singer compared President Obama to Hitler yesterday. Williams saying his comments were misunderstood.
* The White House turned into the pink house last night. The colored lights are an annual tradition started by President George W. Bush three years ago in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

* Amanda Knox's fate is in the hands of an Italian jury. The American student is appealing her murder conviction and spoke directly to the jury this morning – insisting she's innocent. A verdict is expected today.
* Rezwan Ferdaus, a Massachusetts man accused of plotting attacks on the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, will be in court later today.
* Greece's government is reportedly looking at laying of 30,000 employees.
* The "Occupy Wall Street" protests are entering their third week. Over the weekend 700 people were arrested for blocking traffic on the brooklyn bridge.
* According to the New York Times, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reportedly reconsidering a bid for the presidency. His advisers are reportedly scrambling to determine if there's enough time to set up operations in Iowa and New Hampshire.
* For the first time in nearly 15 years, Tiger Woods is not among the top 50 golfers in the world. When the rankings come out this morning – Tiger is expected to be 51st in the world.

* Michael Jackson's assistant testified in the Conrad Murray trial yesterday on the chaotic scene he witnessed when Jackson stopped breathing.
* In Iran, the attorney for the two American hikers who were released last week says he was briefly detained by security forces on Tuesday.
* The House is expected to approve a bipartisan Senate deal that temporarily averts a partial government shutdown.
* Just in to CNN: Sen. John McCain is in Libya. He arrived in the capital of Tripoli a short time ago.
* Tampa Bay Rays grab the American league wildcard slot with a 12th inning walk-off homer against the Yankees, completing an historic comeback.
