Rep. to forfeit benefits, sleep in office to protest healthcare reform
Republicans in the House could hold their first vote on the repeal of the President’s healthcare reforms by the end of this week. It probably won’t get too far, but there’s one freshman Representative who’s determined to stand up against those reforms.
His name is Joe Walsh, a Tea Party-backed Republican from Illinois who beat out Democrat Rep. Melissa Bean. Walsh plans to repeal the healthcare reform law and refuse his own health benefits in protest.
Today on American Morning, Jim Acosta talks to Walsh about why he’s going to the extreme of giving up his own benefits and how it would affect his wife, who has a pre-existing condition.
Christine O'Donnell defends her financial disclosures
Washington (CNN) - Republican Christine O'Donnell, who lost her bid for U.S. Senate from Delaware, is lashing out at reports the Justice Department and FBI have launched a criminal investigation into possible misuse of campaign funds for personal expenses, calling any such probe "thug tactics."
Justice Department prosecutors and FBI agents have started the investigation, a source with knowledge of the probe confirmed to CNN. The source could not speak on the record because of the investigation is deemed sensitive. The source would not provide any further details and the FBI and Justice Department had no comment.

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele tells American Morning’s John Roberts that Republicans need to focus on winning elections tomorrow night–not on 2012, and whether Sarah Palin will run for President.
"Let’s stop the Washington-inside games. No one cares about that," Steele told Roberts. "Help us make phone calls. Help us dial in the districts around the country so we can turn out our vote. That’s what these folks should be doing right now, not focusing on Sarah Palin. Cause Sarah Palin doesn’t focus on Sarah Palin, she’s focused on winning elections and seats tomorrow night."

The Tea Party is one of the breakout stories of this year's upcoming midterm elections. One reporter conducted six month study on the Tea Party to get a sense of what the movement really looks like in detail. CNN's Kiran Chetry talks to Washington Post reporter Amy Gardner about her findings.
