Tracking fugitive American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki

(CNN) – CNN has been investigating radical fugitive cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who is wanted by the feds and believed to be hiding out in Yemen. He's issued threats against the United States and has been linked to several terror plots. What makes al-Awlaki different is that he is an American. How serious was NY terrorist threat?

(CNN) – Today, two Americans will be in court to face terrorism charges after being arrested over the weekend at New York's JFK airport. Authorities had the two men under surveillance for years, and say they were headed for terror training in Somalia. CNN national security analyst Peter Bergen joined us on Monday's American Morning to discuss the seriousness of the threat.

Growing terror threat within Somalia

(CNN) – The two New Jersey men arrested at a New York airport Saturday planned to travel to Somalia to "wage violent jihad," authorities say. It's a specific case that reflects a bigger picture of the growing concern U.S. officials have about Somalia's role as a training ground for extremists.

CNN has learned the United States now estimates as many as 200 foreign fighters may be in Somalia – fighters posing a possible threat to the United States after joining the Somali-based al Qaeda group known as al Shabab. Our Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr has the report.
