New tape connects accused underwear bomber to al Qaeda

(CNN) – There's a new videotape today of suspected Christmas Day bomber Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab training in Yemen with al Qaeda.

The tape, obtained and broadcast by ABC News, shows the 23-year-old Nigerian speaking in Arabic about his impending attack and firing at targets that include a star of David.

AbdulMutallab is accused of trying to blow up a Detroit-bound plane last December with a bomb hidden in his underwear. Our Paula Newton has the report.

Blasts tear through Moscow subway

(CNN) – Two deadly explosions tore through subway stations in Moscow during Monday's morning rush when the trains were jam-packed. Investigators say female suicide bombers blew themselves up around 8 a.m. local time, when it would have been standing room only on the rails.

The first bomb ripped through a train killing dozens of people inside and on the platform. The stop is right underneath what used to be KGB headquarters. Our Matthew Chance reports from Moscow.

New bin Laden warning?

(CNN) – A new audio message has emerged with a familiar warning to America.

The tape, believed to be from Osama bin Laden, says if suspected 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is executed, al-Qaeda will in turn kill any American it captures.

To discuss the warning we were joined on Friday's American Morning by former CIA officer Jack Rice and Peter Bergen, CNN national security analyst and author of "The Osama bin Laden I Know."
