
(CNN) – Authorities in Washington D.C. and Russia are still dealing with the fallout after a boy was sent back to Russia alone by the family in Tennessee who had adopted him.
In a CNN exclusive, our Kiran Chetry talked with Arthur Lookyanov, the driver who was hired in Russia to pick the boy up at the airport.
(CNN) – The death toll in China's earthquake has risen to nearly 400 in a mountainous and impoverished area of Qinghai province Wednesday, an emergency official said on state-run television.
The Xinhua News Agency reported 8,000 others were injured and many victims, including primary schoolchildren, were buried under debris.
The 6.9-magnitude earthquake, as measured by the U.S. Geological Survey, struck at 7:49 a.m. local time (7:49 p.m. ET Tuesday), when people were probably still at home and schools were beginning the day. The USGS also recorded several strong aftershocks - one of magnitude 5.8 - all within hours of the initial quake.

(CNN) – Two deadly explosions tore through subway stations in Moscow during Monday's morning rush when the trains were jam-packed. Investigators say female suicide bombers blew themselves up around 8 a.m. local time, when it would have been standing room only on the rails.
The first bomb ripped through a train killing dozens of people inside and on the platform. The stop is right underneath what used to be KGB headquarters. Our Matthew Chance reports from Moscow.
