Moms demand Iran free jailed hikers

(CNN) – The mothers of three US hikers who remain jailed in Iran are demanding their children be released or tried. It's the first time the families have criticized the Iranians since their children were arrested near the Iraq-Iran border and charged with espionage last year. Laura Fattal, mother of imprisoned American hiker Josh Fattal, joined us via phone on Thursday's American Morning.

Gates, Buffett to billionaires: Give away your wealth

(CNN) – For the past year, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates have been secretly trying to convince America's billionaires to share their wealth by donating half their personal net worth to charity. Plaquemines Parish pres. wants Adm. Allen out

(CNN) – Plenty of local officials in the Gulf say the federal government has been slowing things down and getting in the way during the oil crisis. Billy Nungesser, the president of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, says Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, Washington's pointman for this crisis, should be replaced. He says the Coast Guard shut down barges that were vacuuming oil out of the water while paperwork's being processed. He joined us on the phone on Thursday's American Morning.

Obama facing backlash for oil moratorium

(CNN) – The president's six month moratorium on deep water drilling has some Gulf Coast residents concerned. Plenty of business owners along the shore, and politicians in Washington, say the longer the oil rigs are shut down, the more families depending on the industry for a paycheck will suffer. Our Chris Lawrence breaks down the debate.
