Mobile surgical unit saving lives in Afghanistan
(CNN) – It is the "MASH" unit of the modern battlefield – an emergency room crammed into a metal box that is with the Marines on the front lines every step of the way.
It's giving military doctors a priceless head start on saving lives, but they do not come cheap. Our Chris Lawrence has the story from Kabul.
A warning letter to Toyota from its workers
(CNN) – Long before the massive recalls, back when Toyota enjoyed a spotless reputation for safety, a group of assembly line workers in Japan started growing concerned.
They didn't like the way their company was changing, so they wrote a warning letter to their CEO. Our Deb Feyerick has seen that letter and spoke to one of the workers who crafted it.

Who is the future of the GOP?
(CNN) – Republicans rallied the troops this weekend at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference.
Some of the GOP's biggest names fired up the faithful in New Orleans, giving us an early indication of who could be at the top of the ticket in 2012.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney defeated Texas Rep. Ron Paul by a single vote in the conference's 2012 straw poll on Saturday.
Romney did not appear at the New Orleans conference, but received 439 votes - or 24 percent - of the 1,806 ballots cast by delegates at the conference. Paul earned 438 votes.

Adopted Russian boy sent packing
An adopted seven year old boy has been returned to Russia, literally sent packing by his American mother. Russia says it's now putting American adoptions on hold. It's a decision that could affect hundreds of families this morning. We will look at both sides of this and what it could mean for kids and couples who want to be parents. Read more

(CNN) – According to the U.S. Treasury Department, China holds $889 billion in U.S. treasuries. As a major lender, it is essentially the banker that funds our government and our recovery.

- Donald: ...I just simply don't understand what all this interest about Tiger's sex life is about. Sure, he's a lousy husband; but what does that have to do with his sporting ability? People argue he's a role model. He's not. He's a multi-million dollar athlete paid to do what he's good at. His marital woes should have absolutely nothing to do with his job-which he does very well. It's NOT OUR BUSINESS!!!
- Dorothy: I don't play golf and never watch golf tournaments, and I tuned in only because I think Tiger Woods is repulsive. Amazed!
