A Soldier's Story: Graduation day

Editor's Note: From the home front to the front lines, we're following one recruit's journey in our American Morning original series "A Soldier's Story." Today, in part seven, Jason Carroll goes behind-the-scenes with Will as he graduates, but his battle buddy is nowhere to be found. Tomorrow, it's back to basic training with a brand new recruit. Her name is Latricia Rose and we're following this wife and mom as she starts her new life in uniform.

Chevy Volt to hit showrooms in November

(CNN) – The 2010 New York Auto Show kicks off tomorrow and the folks at General Motors are hoping everyone gets all charged up over the new Chevy Volt. The electric car is set to hit showrooms later this year.

The Volt first debuted as a concept car in the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. Bob Lutz, retiring vice chairman of General Motors, joined us on Tuesday's American Morning to show off the final product.

Making bullies accountable

(CNN) – It appears to be a tragic case of bullying at a Massachusetts high school. Nine teenagers were indicted Monday for allegedly tormenting 15-year-old Phoebe Prince so relentlessly that she committed suicide.

The charges include criminal harassment, stalking, statutory rape and violation of civil rights To dig deeper into the story we were joined on Tuesday's American Morning by Parry Aftab, executive director of Wiredsafety.org.

Nine students arrested for teen's suicide

(CNN) – Nine high school students in western Massachusetts are facing criminal charges for allegedly bullying a 15-year-old classmate so relentlessly she committed suicide.

Prosecutors say plenty of people at the school failed to speak up until it was too late. Our Alina Cho reports on what appears to be another tragic case of bullying where too many people decided to look the other way.

Teens indicted in alleged bullying death

(CNN) – Nine Massachusetts teenagers have been charged with involvement in a months-long campaign of bullying that led to the suicide in January of a 15-year-old girl, a prosecutor said Monday.

Phoebe Prince's body was found hanging in the stairway leading to her family's second-floor apartment in South Hadley, Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth D. Scheibel told reporters in the western Massachusetts town of Northampton.

"It appears that Phoebe's death on January 14 followed a torturous day for her when she was subjected to verbal harassment and physical abuse," she said.

Earlier in the day, Prince had been harassed as she studied in the library at South Hadley High School, apparently in the presence of a faculty member and several students, none of whom reported it until after the death, Scheibel said. FULL STORY

California Republican returning RNC money after racy club visit

(CNN) – A California-based political consultant who charged the Republican National Committee nearly $2,000 for a night out at Voyeur – a risque West Hollywood nightclub now at center of the latest controversy surrounding RNC chairman Michael Steele – will return the money to the party, a committee spokesman told CNN Monday.

Erik Brown, president of the Orange County-based Dynamic Marketing, Inc., was re-imbursed in February for $1,946.25 worth of charges at the nightclub, according to the RNC's latest filing with the Federal Election Commission. FULL STORY
